This is Moshe, he was tied to a tree since 6 weeks old, bought from a breeder, akc registered. He's 1 year old now, current on vaccines, and 60lbs. He is undersocialized and needs to be worked with to be a confident doggie that he was meant to be. He shows no aggression toward other dogs or people. He seems to be quite smart and wants to please, we got him to sit for a treat, meet other dogs in the yard at the shelter. Hewill be going to a temporary foster home today under Out of Harms Way, but it is only a short term solution. Hi my name is Cam and I am a sweet lovable lab looking for my forever home. I have been neutered, and I weigh about 100 pounds. I am trying to loose some weight though. I am recently being fostered because while I was being held at Animal Control, I developed some bad manors because of lack of enough exercise and attention. Well now that I'm being fostered and I get plenty of exercise I am becoming much happier and easier to handle. I'm not perfect yet, but with some more training, which my foster parents are helping me with, I will be the perfect pet! Instead of licking, I sometimes playfully mouth but I don't bite, but I am getting much better at that too. Due to my exuberant nature I would do best in a home with active adults who like to exercise, hike/camp, take long walks etc, with preferably a big back yard, but probably not children under 10.
I get along great with my foster parents two dogs, and play all day long with them. One is a bit older and I don't play with her as much because I respect my elders. I am pretty much house trained. Vale, NC









This sweet female lab was found very thin (about 65lbs)with a broken rear leg. She was taken to the nearest vet and stayed overnite for pain control. She had no collar or microchip. She has a cast on now and is getting around well. She eats well and is gaining weight. Unfortunately, she tested heartworm positive. She isn't spayed yet but will be as soon as the vet okays it. Her cast should come off in 2 weeks. She is being fostered with 3 other dogs and 4 cats. She doing great, she shows no aggression with the other animals but, is easily frightened. Hello! My name is Tucker and I am the sweetest male Lab mix you will ever find. I was rescued from a very high kill shelter just minutes before I was to be put to sleep. I didn’t have a very good life before the shelter, so I need to find a forever home where someone will have time to love and play with me. My foster mom and dad have shown me that it’s ok to trust and love my human friends and now I get so happy to see them, my tail starts wagging uncontrollably. I love to spend time with my foster parents and when one of them starts rubbing me, I get so happy and relaxed, so if they stop, I run over to the other one and ask to be rubbed! ☺ I am current on all my vaccines, but have tested positive for heartworms. Titan


Titan is a sweet black lab mix around 2-3 years old. He was abandoned at a kennel where they took good care of him for the past two years. However, now he is ready to get out and PLAY!! He is doing great at walking on a leash and is very used to being crate trained. He is also responding well to being house trained, and has only had a few accidents. Titan is a big boy, but a little underweight, he needs to gain about ten pounds. He loves playing with other dogs, but is also content just to lay. He does pace around a bit, because he isn't used to having open spaces to roam around in. He needs a home where someone will love him and teach him about all the things he missed out on while he was living in a kennel facility. 3/13/08 - Simon (ID#d06111fh) - bottom photo - is a super sweet,affectionate, friendly boy who is all about having fun. He loves to race around the pastures with his dog buddies while playing chase games. Once he's hot and tired, he heads straight to the puppy pool for a relaxing dip to cool off. Simon loves the water in a big way. If you want your new dog pal to go with you when go to the lake or the beach, Simon may just be the pup for you. He'll also do fine in a home that does not frequent water spots. He has plenty of smarts combined with the happy go lucky temperament of the lab making him one super companion dog. He's doing very well in his obedience basics and could be a star pupil in obedience class. Simon also has a softer side and loves to hang out with his favorite people and have his ears rubbed. He can sometimes be a bit hesitant at first when meeting new people, but it usually doesn't take him long at all to make friends. He's housetrained, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. The home of his dreams would have a fenced yard and another playful dog along with a family who will love him unconditionally. This special black dog is all ready to find his perfect forever home. Wake Forest, NC - Jasper, sweet boy



4/21/08 - Jasper is a one-year-old mostly Lab-mix who was rescued from the shelter a few hours before running out of time. When he came to us, he was very sweet but timid in new situations. He has come a long way in the few months he has been with us, and he is well on his way to being a confident loving boy now! Jasper gets along great with his fosterpack (two Labs and one Golden), and he adores his foster family's kids (girls ages 8 and 14). He will sit and fetch, and he is learning to walk politely on a leash. He loves to please and learns quickly. He is house and cratetrained; and in fact, has never had an "accident" in his foster home. Jasper is a smaller dog and will likely not weigh more than 60 lbs when grown. Jasper has been neutered, is up-to-date on shots and is ready to go to a forever home.We do have an adotpion fee and

Kelly - Clayton, NC



4/14/08 - Kelly is a sweet girl looking for her new home that is patient with lots of love to give her. She prefers females and a quieter home. She can be slower to warm up, but is very loving once she settles in. No smaller children would be best - she is fine with them but prefers older settled kids or a no kid home may be best (she is in foster home with a 10 and 13 yr. old and is fine with them).

1/22/08 - Kelly has been spayed and will start her heartworm treatment this week.
1/10/08 - Kelly was RESCUED just in time, BUT STILL NEEDS her permanent loving home: CONTACT JENNIFER AT: 919-763-0556 if interested in adopting Kelly.
