These pets are available for adoption by any individual through Wednesday 3/11/09 at 4:00 p.m. They will be put down if not rescued by then. The adoption fee is $75 for dogs and $80 for cats which includes spay/neuter, up to date shots, and de-worming, also feline leukemia test for cats. The shelter is open Mon. - Fri. 9:30 - 4:00 and Sat. 10:00 - 12:00 noon. It is located at 1037 Coble Ave. (off Hwy 24/27 Bypass) in Albemarle, NC (35 miles east of Charlotte). The adoptions are first come, first served. They won't hold the dogs for you. If you want to adopt any of these dogs, you would pay for the dog at the shelter. The shelter would take the dog to the vet usually the following morning and you would pick the dog up at the vet's office the afternoon after surgery.
